We're Synereo, and we're trying to make a freer, fairer Internet by making it ALL P2P
Who We Are We are a team of 20 people from all over the world who want to fundamentally change the way the Internet works Synereo. Our tech has been in the works for 6 years, and is finally at the point where it can support any type of application without it having to rely on any centralized server or middleman.

Mission Statement
Synereo’s mission is to build a truly free Internet, one that cannot be censored, taken down or corrupted. Only a decentralized Internet can do this; one that doesn't rely on server farms and centralized points of control, where users provide the resources and call all the shots.
On a Synereo powered network, you can:
Build decentralized versions of services like Uber, Airbnb and eBay - owned and operated by their users and customers.
Organize communities that allocate resources on predetermined conditions, achieving consensus through a distributed reputation engine.
Found frictionless exchanges, trading tokens which represent stocks and financial products in blazing speeds with no additional charges.
License original content under your own terms, customize payment and engagement models to suit your audience and business model.
What We’re Up To We are now closer than ever to achieve this goal. Synereo's first application which is a fully decentralized social network is about to move into alpha, we’ve released our plans for the next iteration of our tech, which will be fully competitive with top-tier centralized solutions. We’re raised more than a million dollars to date, and are starting a public fundraising campaign in a couple of days. We’re quite excited about this all and can’t stop talking about it, so we invite you to Ask Us Anything.

There are various differences. Synereo's social network is truly decentralized, not like the delegated POS blockchain, employed by steemit - which also lacks a distributed storage solution. Synereo's complete tech stack 2.0 includes all faculties needed for decentralized computation, including a turing complete blockchain, distributed storage and smart contracts - which can't be said about steemit.
Furthermore, steemit provides a fairly simple content stream, without regard to subjective networks. Synereo, in contrast, provides content distribution algorithms modeled after the workings of neural networks - allowing you to access information most relevant to you. Synereo's Attention Economy model ensures that you're compensated for your attention to the degree to which you influence your surrounding network. A feature fairly underdeveloped on Steemit. Synereo also provides a Sybil resilient reputation system, which cannot be manipulated by moneyed influence, contrary to Steemit.

We regard Ethereum as our close partners, allies and friends. We have been, and still are, collaborating on various levels, including the Casper design - serving both the Ethereum blockchain, as well as Synereo's tech-stack 2.0

Any Plans to burn AMPs?
Investors would like to see some AMPs Burned. Don't forget the the initial plan was to issue only 1 billion AMPs and we ended-up with double that amount.

Is there any plan for private transactions within Synereo?
Also, whats the Synereo "end game"? Do you guys plan on taking out the social media giants or something else altogether?
Synereo9 karma
Synereo is building a complete decentralized tech-stack, capable of running all forms of decentralized applications. The "end game", if you will, is an Internet independent of centralized servers and central point of control. The social layer of this tech stack - Synereo's social network - is one such application, accompanied by many more, currently developed by our partners and community. We believe that a decentralized internet will eventually out-compete the current centralized paradigm, together with the incumbent players currently dominating it

The dedicated Content Creator Wallet is an interesting concept but since reach and or visibility on Synereo is controlled by the use of amps for amplification, how do you plan to make the platform useful for photographers and other visual artists who do not have budgets of hundreds of thousands of dollars to market themselves?
Synereo3 karma
Reach and visibility on Synereo are not solely "controlled by the use of amps". The organic reach of your content depends on how much your network is interested in you. If you create content that other people find useful, it organically spreads through the system. Further more, if you organically attract attention, you're in the position of earning AMPs, provided by promoted content reaching you - which you then can spend on further promoting your own.

I am interested in knowing how "nodes" fit into the Synereo infrastructure. Today, very few cryptos can be created by normal computer hardware so that participation in the creation of bitcoins, for example, is completely out of reach for all but a very very few ultra wealthy players. Do you have any target metrics you are willing to share at this point that would able someone who wants to participate in Synereo by setting up a nodes on their own hardware to estimate the potential cost/revenue equation for running a node at the point of beta for the social media layer of your platform?

Synereo's next-gen blockchain is based on the Casper proof of stake design, and makes block validation much cheaper and faster - Synereo nodes will not be bound to complete wasteful POW calculations in order to participate in the validation process, rendering the process much more accessible. Thanks to this mode of operation, the Synereo blockchain doesn't waste resources on raising difficulty, but is free to invest the resources, provided by nodes, in running the network itself - making it faster and much more efficient.
Furthermore, there are additional sources of AMP value about which you can learn here - https://blog.synereo.com/2016/09/14/amp-a-cryptocurrency-with-inherent-value/

Why did you "BURN" AMP coins? There will be MORE released right? This makes very little sense, what is going on? Does this have to do with preventing a big DUMP on AMPs on your news of the next releases? Are you going to BURN more AMPs in order to secure the price and make sure the founders are not able to totaly control the proof of stake blockchain? How do we know the founders dont hold enough to collude to control the Proof Of Stake blockchain?
Synereo1 karma
Thank you /u/keiserpepe. Good questions. You can find most of the answers here - https://blog.synereo.com/2016/09/16/synereo-burns-half-of-all-amps-in-existence/ Anyways - No, there wont be released any more AMPs anytime soon. All AMPs offered during this sale are pre-existing AMPs, not newly minted ones. Regarding the PoS concern - We guarantee that by the time we will have released our next-gen, scalable, PoS-based Blockchain, Synereo will hold fewer than 50% of all available AMPs throughout the different wallets the company controls. We will achieve this by distributing the AMPs for their intended purpose (bounties, incentives for users, etc.), and by burning whatever is left at the time of release.

How is your project protected from the censorship of your own company? i.e. Can Synereo take down any sites, since the project is owned by your company.
How will you make profit from this? Will you make people pay for it either with money or their user data or is it going to be based on ads? Or how else are you going to fund this?
How will your reputation engine work? Won't communities or several communities together be able to make sites they dislike disappear or become bad mouthed/poorly rated?
Synereo1 karma
Hi /u/Labargoth, 1. No - Synereo doesn't have access to any of the information stored on its platform. This is technically impossible due to the P2P nature of the Synereo network and its underlying blockchain technology. Neither Synereo, nor any other entity can view, access or compromise information stored on the Synereo platform. 2. Synereo's business model is similar to that of other open-source start-ups. The revenue of Synereo LTD will come mainly from consultation and optimization assistance. 3. Reputation on the Synereo network represents the influence one enjoys in their surrounding network. This cannot be exploited for censorship.
