I'm a Palestinian with a jewish name "Isaac". My mom and brother do not have that name and they do not resemble me and my mother still has her maiden name. So at the checkpoints we always get that stupid look until they check that we are american citizens. Then they find out my mom was born in Jeneen and question the shit out of her. A few are "HOW IS THIS YOUR SON? Is this your son? He looks nothing like you. Is he adopted? Why is his last name different?". We get lots of trouble but we always get through.
