Hi, Mr. Burton! Congratulations on the Kickstarter campaign, I grew up with Reading Rainbow and absolutely love it!

Given the success of the kickstarter, and assuming it continues to raise even more funds, is there any chance of releasing classic episodes of Reading Rainbow online.. for everyone to check out? If they were even just on YouTube as simple, non-interactive videos, I'd love to rewatch old episodes :)

This happened in my hometown (Okay, technically the next town over, but essentially in the area where I grew up)! Basically the consensus among people I've discussed it with is something along the lines of:

  • Some would argue (myself included) that the parents of these children were looking for something to blame for their child's suicide. Obviously the principal had conducted this hypno-therapy with many students, and there isn't a sufficient cause to believe this small handful of tragedies could be blamed by his techniques.

  • On the other hand, he wasn't really at the school to be hypnotizing to begin with; beyond whatever skills/certifications he may have, it wasn't the best thing he could do to these students without consent from the parents.

  • Overall a very sad story, but it's a shame that the principal had to step down after fingers were pointed at him. Most seem to believe he had little/nothing to do with these events, but the outrage among angry parents was relentless.

Hey Nathan! Fellow proud python here. To what extent would you say growing up in Sarasota shaped your politics and ideology?

Well put! Although I feel like when I put the same mirror to my own childhood I'd say most of the same (sans British background) - just how much Sarasota is divided up by wealth (and age) I feel like must have played into a skepticism of the rich (and conventional/"status quo" rhetoric). Big fan, keep it up!
