Do you ever miss the opportunity to interact on an empathetic and social level with patients? Not as an icu nurse I mean, but say, something like a Psych NP? I imagine the OR can be cold in a few ways and the work is mechanical/intellectual. Do you ever wish you had more of an interpersonal helping role that stimulates empathy, or do you find some or all of that in your profession?
