I didn't claim my point of view was anything but my point of view. You may see things in a different light, and you'll have your reasons to do so, just as I have a reason to see things my way.

I can very well imagine some might want their references on a site that has an "offical" ring to it. Having worked with quite a few artists in the past, sending them a link to what they required to do their work never was an issue. While the url shortening is indeed a nice touch, it seems like a very modest quality-of-life upgrade for some at best. If people want their references there and use it, fine, there's nothing wrong with that.

As you're talking to the artist already anyway, however, and send them a nice email with all the additional information, be it for desired pose, background, the overall tone and feel of the requested art, attaching either this or that link, assuming you don't just attach the reference directly, doesn't make a difference in workflow really.

OP however is putting quite some time and effort into something I cannot really see a benefit that is at least equal to their investment. From a business PoV, I am not sure if all of this investment will be worth it at least monetarily, but I wish them the best. I may very well be wrong and it's the next cool thing people didn't know they needed. It is not a bad thing per se, but certainly something where I think it isn't out of place to question if this is something that needs to be there enough for someone to actually go and make it.

Most people I know that have a use for ref sheets (=furries) have them either in their FA gallery or on onedrive or things like that.

I am not opposed to the idea, I just don't think it's helping to solve a problem anyone really has.
