You have to remember that the land and any artifacts belong to the people there so they have every right to refuse for whatever reason.

We just don't need it. NZ is very lucky to have so many different sources of renewable energy (hydro, geothermal and wind) to meet it's power needs. Nuclear power is just not worth the risk and investment.
