My granny thinks scandal after scandal within the church is just a conspiracy to get money.

On the contrary I think it would do the opposite because people who know how to critically think will leave the church/religion.

Confirmation biases are really difficult to break with these people since everything the know is grounded upon that God would never let these (people of faith) do harm to others...it is an encompassing blind trust that God would never allow this to happen. At other times as in the case with your ex, confirmation biases are more close knitted to where you think you know the person so well, that they are simply not capable of doing something negative.

I am sorry for your ex to even have to go through that. The world is a dark place for some of us.

I'm going through a stint of NET diagnosis' right now...the symptoms of carcinoid syndrome and tumor markerd were clear as day but they couldn't find anything specific except METs on my liver.

My first oncologist totally took the word of a poor MRI reading over two other scans (Octreotide/CT) showing foci on the liver.

From my personal experience, the for profit healthcare system in America demonstrates doctors tend to rush diagnosing -or not - at least for the more complicated (rarer cancers) simply because either they don't have experience or they don't take the time or effort to critically think about everything (where in my case, something could easily be overlooked).

Time to diagnosis (1.5 years).

Edit: Additionally, insurance approval for scans/medications/treatment had affected this delay too.

I JUST contracted dermatographia and I'm 30! It's annoying as hell. At first I was thinking it started because of an underlying medication I was taking, but now I'm starting to think either stress or my radiotherapy / recent surgery caused it.

I've been taking Benadryl to subside the symptoms, but the drowsiness is a problem. Do you take any antihistamines?
