So, why do they take rent out of your paycheck? That should be provided. If you have your own housing, the school should give you about 400k extra for rent money. Seriously, rent is not something you should be paying for with your school.

You must have a bachelors degree to get an E-2 visa in Korea (the teaching visa). There are some shady schools that hire without, but those are rather rare.
