Did the media do a good job covering this story for the last two years, in your estimation? Frankly I was horrified by the blatant bias from media outlets, on the left and right. It seemed like we were being fed a constant diet of bullshit.

I'm reading a biography of Teddy Roosevelt and he faced the same thing. Republican-leaning newspapers said good things and about him and Democratic-leaning ones said bad things. Do you see this overt bias in American journalism as a problem?

I don't really understand what you are saying here. Maybe you are making sense but here's the real answer:

The House has hundreds of members whose job is to represent the people while Senate has just 100 members (two per state) whose job is to represent the states.

A big job of the House is creating spending bills. The Senate is more about "lofty" ideas and advancing the president's agenda (or not, if the majority is the other party) and approving judges and other appointments.

When major bills are created in both the House and Senate they must go to a conference committee to rectify the differences and then be passed by both. Only then does the bill go to the president for his signature (or veto).

So in short, the House and Senate have some similar powers, some very different powers and neither has authority over the other.
