Marketwatch is financially tied to the stock market. I.e they profit from certain stocks doing well or badly.

They write hit pieces to manipulate the stock market so they get the outcome their investors want.

Sometimes they will write a false story about how a company is failing and people are selling the stock even though the data shows profits have gone up, they have cleared they’re debt, they have a new talented senior team etc and more people are buying the stock than ever before.

Similarly they will often write stories about “top picks” for stocks which are borderline pump and dump schemes for people who have paid into those stocks before the article was written.

Not saying every article they write does the above, but some do and that’s bad. It should be never.
