Why didn't Boardwalk Empire ever quite make it as a top show? That was a show that should have made it between the great cast and Terrence Winter, but never quite got there. And why were they in such a rush to end it? Was that an HBO decision or did the development of Vinyl lead to rushing to the finale of Boardwalk Empire? Despite not being a great show, I think they probably had another few good seasons left in them, especially after they figured out that Nucky wasn't the lead they thought he was.

Why can't there be a third season of True Detective? Did season 2 really ruin the brand that badly, or is it that HBO doesn't want to deal with Pizzolatto that much? Why couldn't they learn from the mistakes of the third season (sorry Vince Vaughn) and try that again with the right leads and a story perhaps a tad less convoluted?
