Hi Mak! I just want to say that I've really enjoyed reading your responses so far. You seem like a cool person.

What would you say is your favorite tour/concert memory?

I have a very basic understanding of arthritis, and am particularly interested rheumatoid arthritis. I find autoimmune diseases to be really interesting. I know that the synovial membrane becomes inflamed and then basically goes on the attack. Is the inflammation of that membrane a part of the immune response? Or do we know the trigger for the inflammation?

I get that RA is ideopathic, but I’ve just never quite understood how the inflammation itself (that leads to the degradation) comes about - or is that the part scientists don’t yet understand?

I want to understand better, but this always seemed like a dumb question. Thanks for doing an AMA (and for your contribution to arthritis research)!
