Important to note that it is not an "airport job", so almost no airports will have this position. It's typically done out of an airline's headquarters.

It is commonly confused with Air Traffic Controllers who work in a control tower... which IS a position at most of the larger airports that have a control tower.

All FAA approved dispatch schools.

Many of these schools offer certification courses as part of a degree program. You will want to research.

Oh I agree for sure about the benefits and pay! I just thought it would be wise to add more of the smaller majors to show more geographic diversity in where these positions exist.

As far as I know, all US-based carriers dispatch out of their headquarters, or very close by (a separate building, perhaps). The exception would be flights operated by a regional carrier. If you've ever been on Delta Connection or American Eagle, for example, those flights were not dispatched from Delta offices in Atlanta or American offices in Dallas. They would be dispatched out of the headquarters of the regional airline operating that flight (e.g. Endeavor in Minneapolis, Skywest in St. George UT, Republic in Indianapolis, etc.)

But for the most part, ALL Delta flights, regardless of where in the world they are operating, would be dispatched out of Atlanta, and likewise for other carriers.

As far as non-US carriers go, I don't know how they do it. I imagine for economic reasons they would have any dispatch-equvilent position at their home offices as well, but admittedly is just speculation.
