Jesus. I visited that railroad when living in Thailand. That was very lucky your grandfather made it out of working on that thing. But going there was one of the most memorable times in the year I lived in Thailand. As an American it gave me a different view of that war.

Sounds like it would be an awesome place to live as a kid!
