Speculating, but perhaps this refers to how we act differently around different people - our boss, our parents, our siblings, our friends. Generally, they are not all the exact same person - different facets of the same jewel you could say. I personally do not say or behave in certain ways around coworkers, that I would feel comfortable with doing around my spouse.

well, no one starts working in a lab already having experience! I think a master's would be qualified. I wouldn't write yourself off.

I’m not saying it’s the same, just speculating on what the therapist might have meant.

Hey, I was a part of a TWLOHA chapter on my college campus (treasurer). They way we usually kicked off the year was with a candelight vigil on WSPD to honor the memories of those who committed suicide. Advertising the event is a huge draw, and if you can, get some singers(we were a Christian campus so it's easy to find someone who will play worship songs on a guitar). Give candles to everyone who shows up and have everyone light each others. Have someone speak, and then invite people up to share their stories. They'll be more inclined to if someone else does, so maybe be prepare to tell one. easier said than done, of course, but it was a good kickoff to the year.
