It is well-known that Reddit is rigidly controlled / censored and only allows leftist viewpoints to be discussed (and in only the prescribed manner).

Well, just like with government control of the media, it is behind the scenes and you have to know what to look for.

Wouldn't you say that there are many casual consumers of news that do not have any idea of potential censorship?

In Reddit's case, they control things by encouraging/allowing individuals with a particular hard political viewpoint to absolutely control subreddits, then only enforces the rules against censorship for the other side.

It is 100% consistent and happens behind the scenes.
