Oh I can imagine what type of place it is. I guess the smaller the town is the worse funding orphanages/schools/hospitals get + 90s. I looked through your comments and am terrified of the things that were going on there ... I'm very sorry for what you early childhood got to be. A few orphanages where I got the chance to be a volunteer have never been anything like that - children there especially like extra attention, but they have their own beds, toys, clothes, friendly staff. It's not the same as a functioning family but not a nightmare of your childhood either.

May I ask you where exactly the orphanage you grew up in was? Was it in some rural area? Sleeping on the floor and having 2 cockroaches in your ear seems surreal even to me, although I went to kindergarten around the same time and both kindergartens and orphanages probably used to have about the same funding from the government.
