Under the old system it was decent-candidates had a (fairly low) cap they could get from each person. Companies couldn't give. Everything had to be disclosed. Then SuperPACs arrived and they ruined everything with a perversion of the 1st amendment.

I guess in question format: who defines what's "Good" in your organization? Helping coal is "good" and helping the environment is "good." They are mutually exclusive. So you just decide your morality based on who's paying the most?

just sounds like you're selling lobbying as the solution to problems. That's not, you know, the solution. even if you are successful, and you get money, the money isn't the solution. the money buys the solution. What did the institute for peace buy with the money you get them?
