Do you have any tips for clipping the claws of a cat who simply won't allow it? Our small female orange tabby simply won't allow us to clip her claws. We used to take her to a goomer to get them done, but the last time we were there I had to disassemble the cat carrier to get her out, since she was refusing to even be dumped out (the Amazing Spiderkitty!). After swiping and hissing, the groomer decided to give her a Hannible Lector mask for the duration. We decided we wanted to spare her that trauma.

When we try to clip her at home, she'll twist, thrash, and turn until I'm sure she'll either dislocate something ot break a leg, and I'm forced to let go of her.

Sneeking up and doing it while she's dozing/groggy (which works well on our other cat) also doesn't work. She always sleeps with her paws tucked under her. Attempting to gently take hold of one wakes her up immeditely and earns us The Stare.
