I can't think of any questions, but I came to say stay strong. I had a friend with CF, so I have an idea of how easy it is to lose hope and start hating everything. From what I've seen, it seems that attitude plays a huge part in how well a CF-er does. You have my support, and I wish you the best in all future endeavors.

Oh and just to clarify, my friend didn't die or anything. He just started being a jerk all the time, so I don't talk much anymore. I think he succumbed to the negativity and it started to come out on everyone that is close to him. He knows I am still there for him whenever he needs me, but I generally try to avoid the abuse whenever possible. Other than being a jerk, he is doing quite well medically. He has a more uncommon genotype, so he is very healthy. But yeah, stay strong buddy!

Yeah they are. A company called Vertex Pharmaceuticals, backed by support from the CF Foundation is working pretty hard to get something out there for the ⌂F508 mutation, which is what (I think) ~75% of CF cases are caused by. From what I have heard, they learn new things every day, and they are getting closer and closer. I'm rooting for them!

Yes. Important point. Infertility does not equal sterility. With assisted reproductive techniques, they can still have kids.

IIRC, ~95%-98% of males with CF are infertile, due to malformation of the vas deferans in utero. Female CF-ers are not usually infertile, but there is a chance.
