This quote means the world to me. My boyfriend and I were dating pretty solid for 8 months and out of the blue he dumps me. I got really drunk about a week later and basically demanded he come speak to me. He came out and basically told me every person in his life who was suppose to love him ended up hurting him. (Unattentive mother, father disappeared, abusive step-fathers... it goes on)

In probably the most sobering moment of my life I realized he wanted to end our amazing relationship before I could hurt him. I said something that I mean now (5 months later) and that I will mean 50 years from now. I told him; "For every time someone has hurt you, I will give you love twice as strong to heal it."

The fact that someone out there realized that sometimes it's terrifying to know that you might be the one more in love, but that's ok seems huge to me.

As someone heading into the field of genetic medicine:

Have you meet with a genetic councilor?

If so, how was your experience with them? Did they explain everything on a level you can understand?

If not, do you plan on meeting with one? Who diagnosed you with li-fraumeni? Is it a traditional TP53 mutation?

(This last question i ask because i have an autosomal dominant disorder as well, HLA-B51 mutation which causes myself, all my siblings and my mother to have Behçets Disease ) Knowing what this disease has done in your life, has it changed your decision on having biological children of your own?

Thanks for doing an AMA, and congrats on the recovery.

Good to hear and glad they seemed to explain it on your level. Glad to hear that you've thought about it a bit. I was diagnosed at 15 so i didn't consider it. Now that I'm 25 though....
