Not true. Linux rules data centers. Most services, websites, routers, network file systems, etc. All linux. PC's are what people interface with, but most the web interfaces with a linux computer.

Statement still doesn't make sense.

With Linux/Unix servers being the bastions of information. Databases, Network File Systems, Network Storage Arrays, etc. Wouldn't it make sense to attack that?

I mean if you want gold will you rob the gold bullion store, or start holding random strangers at gun point?

Either your not financially motivated, OR the security is that good.

A while ago (2012) a study was published on XEN showing that it greatly increased cache misses. And CPU's could under heavy load spend >40% of their time waiting on RAM in highly virtualized systems.
