Is your middle name really Danger? A friend of mine named his kid Timothy Danger. You think you're better than him?

South Louisiana former oilfield worker here. Did a bunch of different things; hydrostatic pipe testing, roughnecked, built directional drilling tools, and a few other things... Get out as soon as you can. Cause it will suck you up. The money is to good.

Just to add to what OP answered. Long hours are universal in the oilfield no matter what you're doing. I only worked on rigs for a short period of time. But I've worked in pipe yards and spent the longest time building multi directional drilling tools. Working there we would work 8-12 hour days normally, with every third weekend on call. There were times when I would get home after 12 hours at work and get called back in for Another 6 hours. One time I got to work before the sun came up, and didn't leave till after it went down the next day. Drilling stops for nothing short of a hurricane in our area and everyone is affected. Exxon needs a tool at 4am Christmas , then Exxon gets their tool at 4am on Christmas.
