I live in Houston and have an infant too young to be vaccinated (4 months)—am I paranoid if I keep her home from crowded places?

Oh man I got shingles in my early thirties from one of my students (in her early 20s) and I would have gladly paid hundreds of dollars to have avoided that pain.

Yes! At the most basic level, just start a conversation now with your family and loved ones.

We wrote down my parents’ (both living) wishes for some basic (which city would they like to be buried in?) and nit-picky (which hymns do they want at their respective funerals?) planning in a Google Doc so they can update it if they’d like, and where the kids have access to view. It’s not like a will or anything binding, but it’s nice to know we won’t have to guess at what they “would have wanted.”

One of my friends wants to move because she lives next to chemical plants, but does the source of the air pollution matter that much more than the amount?
