it's important that we verify you are registered to vote too, and this process let's us do it without asking for far more sensitive data from you like your social security number. Thoughts?
Well, just to start with the "guns excessively blazing" part, Facebook is not only infamous for suppressing dissent and participating in the harassment of LGBT and native american communities, but also may have taken information sharing to a 'crimes against humanity' level.
we do not... share ANYTHING back to facebook.
This is a good sign, and I thank you for it.
Just out of curiosity, have you considered a simple "name and phone #," or similar alternatives? I mean, the targeted dissident is the key determinant to a functional democracy, and while we're not far from the COINTELPRO days, I'm a lot more comfortable with "stop by a (non-police) government office" than I am with "deal with facebook and let them network with the global forces of violent repression." It's wierd - most security-conscious types are supposed to not want to go to government offices, but.... I'm more comfortable with the voting office.
Just for one more question....
Facebook isn't a requirement for using the app, but verifying through Facebook OR Linkedin is a requirement to VOTE in the app.
Is this "vote" as in "representative X has the data that an anonymous person feels X, Y, and Z about these bills," or is "does my rep match my preferences" also included?
Also... is this app open-source?
Thank you very much for your answers, for letting me know the app exists in the first place... and for trying to do this, whether it works out or not.

Do you have any opinions on popularizing more-natural food for the various ecosystems (buffalo, reindeer, herring, etc...)
On the one hand, I've been attracted to the concept due to its possible power to replace cattle (and associated displacement) with something which, if it 'escapes,' is supposed to be on the land.
OTOH, I'm very familiar with the former king of norway's role in enforcing propertarian vs. free-range herding, and the degree to which that shift, alone, was destructive. Thoughts?
