Though if I had built up a company from scratch, and semi-revolutionised an industry, I'd be mighty-pissed to have my work stolen. It's tricky.
It isn't tricky, its abusing the courts system, and it isn't justifiable.

Who died? People always say that about government whistle blowers I find, though never back their statements up.
P.S. I too am a combat vet, though not anything approaching SEAL status.
EDI: As others have noted, and I should have remembered, Manning did not release the cables he stole. Neither did Wikileaks. Wikileaks had seeded an encrypted archive of the cables as an insurance policy, and The Guardian published the key to that archive like a bunch of dumbasses.
