As far as we know there are no commercially available clear superhydrophobic coatings on the market... Certainly none that are one step... Plenty of clear hydrophobic, but the "super" part is the differentiator. Since July, we have had a much more durable formula. I'm sorry you had the problem with coating. We've also found that insufficient mixing of the Bottom and Top Coats will decrease the durability of the coating...

You can, but it's much trickier than just coating the outside... the best way to do it is to take the phone apart and coat the sensitive areas with Ever Dry and then put it back together... It's actually not very easy to do the first time....

Ever Dry was developed by a small company composed of scientists and chemists over many years. They were working to develop a coating the could help prevent corrosion of metal and were inspired by the Lotus Leaf....

We would refer people to the Safety Data Sheets to make their own determinations about the safety concerns of Ever Dry. The liquid form is hazardous and contains organic solvents like xylene, t-butyl acetate, and acetone in the Bottom and Top Coats. So, drinking it is a bad idea. Huffing it would be as well. But once the product dries and the solvents have fully evaporated, it is considered non-toxic (which is not the same as “edible”)… You need to wear a respirator, safety goggles, and gloves when applying the coating. This is an industrial use product because of these concerns and the required protective equipment.

We are always working on better oleophobicity... Definitely keep checking back. Thanks for the great questions.
