And what is the biggest one specific thing I as an individual can do to reduce mine?

Eat less meat - or none, if you can handle it.

Meat production is a significant source of CO2 emissions through the entire process. Agriculture itself isn't great - it takes approximately 8 calories of fossil fuels to produce one calorie of food. Then on top of that, every calorie of meat produced represents between 5 and 20 calories of plant matter consumed. Thus we're using at least 5 times as much land to produce food as we would were we not eating meat.

Then you've got all the additional energy costs from raising livestock, transportation, processing, and packaging.

I've seen it said that someone eating only half as much meat will reduce their CO2 footprint by more than if they got rid of their cars.

I'm so glad to see this entire campaign - makes me happy that hockey is my favorite professional sport. And this helps even more.

I play roller derby, and it's really easy to forget that it's one of the most GLBT-friendly sports out there. It can result in me feeling, as you put it, that it's a non-issue in women's sports. It's an important reminder that it IS an issue, and that you're attacking it just as much as you are for men.

I'm reminded again why I'm so comfortable trying to convince my derby teammates that they need to watch hockey. (If for no other reason, we can learn from watching the players skate!)

There's even a growing political movement based around selfishness as a positive attribute instead of a character flaw.

I only finally saw the whole movie a few years ago. I had seen part of the beginning back when I was a kid, but wasn't able to see the whole thing (a whole story involving being at my grandmother's house and having to go do homework instead). But I saw enough that it haunted me for years.

In fact, I think finally seeing it as an adult, some 30-odd years later, was the only thing that finally got the haunting images completely out of my head. It seriously had that much of an impact.

How often did you hand out bans that you wish you didn't have to do? Any gamertags even more awesome than "Cow Moolester" that you had to force people to change?
