To go to school in America as an international, you have to have 2 years worth of tuition sitting in your parent's bank account. So, only the rich (and probably highly educated) can afford to come. Because of this, the US is selecting only rich kids. (aka perpetuating the myth of the model minority)

I mean, when you’re sequencing in general it’s usually good if they trim off the primers and adaptors and cluster your scaffolds (if shotgun sequencing). You’d have to have enough expertise and the right programs (and maybe access to a supercomputer cluster depending on file size) to get anything out of your “raw” data.
