Not OP but at the place I used to work at, there were yellow hazard stickers on everything NOT part of the game. It was part of our intro spiel to tell people these stickers were real and if something says “DO NOT PULL” it means don’t pull it.

People did it anyways. Embarrassingly my own sister broke a gadget by not following the signs.

At the place I used to work at, we would actually lock the cash box in one of the gadgets. To open it you had to type a phrase into the typewriter.

One time we did have a break in, but the dude couldn’t find anything and just took a bunch of pens. Still broke the window though

Interesting. What about fire safety codes? I don't think it's legal to do that where I'm from.

Not OP but I used to work at an escape room too. The entrance door isn’t locked, so you aren’t “trapped”, you just can’t proceed without solving the puzzle. Think of it like a corn maze, you can always go out the entrance.

Unless you do a room where you are handcuffed or locked in a cage.

I used to work at a place that had a water gadget. It was vampire themed and at one point the players got a bottle of "holy water" and had to dump it into another bottle glued down on a shelf. The water completed a circuit and a cabinet would pop open.

Since the second bottle was glued down, to reset this room we'd have to siphon the water back out and put it back in the holy water bottle.
