I grew up in that SNL era and those always stood out as the best years. Thank, Mr. Cheesel. :-D

Hi John. My question is a lot of different things wrapped up in one longer than I meant to be, post.
I currently live I an apt building that is directly next to train tracks. I'm on the sixth floor. The tracks are so close, if I stuck my head out the window, I could spit on trains as they passed (no I don't actually do that).
In my time on this place I've come to establish that there are some "nice"and some "awful" train engineers/ conductors . My reasoning behind this is that sometimes they toot the whistle once or twice (toot-toot) and others, well..... They just hold the horn down for a solid two minutes. That may very well be the best part of the job for you guys, but Jesus it's a lot to handle.
Two part question from this: can you make them stops, and, in this day and age would it be reasonable to cut the decibel level of the train horns? I know they're important, but with all forms of crossings and lights and everything, a horn you can hear for 5 miles seems unnecessary anymore. Darwin Awards included in my thought process. Thanks duder.
Btw, did you ever see that video of the guy who films the train going by and loses his shit? That guy was bananas about trains.

What was it like during SNL's heyday when you had alllll those powerhouse comics and a exemplary writing staff? Bananas? And what was Chris Farley like when he was offstage?
