I'm not aware of any available data to help calculate the likelihood of whether or not 'true' UFOs/UAP (i.e. those cases for which there is adequate corroborating data from multiple sensors and for which there are multiple eye witnesses - as opposed to misidentifications by laymen) are ET in nature. Furthermore, we shouldn't assume that any hypothetical ET has to be 'across the galaxy' (again, we lack adequate data), nor should we anthropomorphize or assume they are incapable of error.

Thank you for your answer and congratulations to you and the team on an absolutely fascinating initiative.

Current estimates suggest - and this number will likely increase with time - that there are approximately 6,000,000,000 Earth-like planets in the Milky Way galaxy, some within 30 light years (I expect the James Webb telescope will reveal many). Alpha Centauri's Proxima B is 4 light years away. We could reach that with conceptual light sail tech in approx 25 years. Finally, there's self-replicating probes to consider. An advanced civilization existing billions of years before us could have explored the entire galaxy with such probes, remnants of which may remain.

What do you think of The Galileo Project? Harvard-based initiative led by Prof Avi Loeb, the aims of which are to search for extraterrestrial technological signatures: 1. In Earth's lower atmosphere 2. In Earth orbit 3. In our solar system
And, would you be open to using any of your satellites (if fit for purpose) to look for such signatures? (in relation to 1).
