We just lost our little boy to SIDS, six days before his 1st birthday just a little over 2 wks ago. It's been a very hard journey to go thru. I'm so thankful I have 3 older girls to focus on as my son wouldn't have wanted me to sit around and cry 24/7 so I returned back to work a couple days ago, it's hard, but it keeps me busy and that's what I need. The paramedics told me "I'm sorry, there's nothing we could do" (which I knew because I was giving him CPR which I knew as useless as he was long gone. He passed in his sleep and we just didn't know it til the next morning (we had checked on him when we went to bed 3 hrs after putting him down to bed, and he was still alive and moving around a little like he usually does) I miss the hell outta him and wish I could bring him back. :( Life is unfair at times. :(

I think firefighters and paramedics should get discounts like miltary peeps does over where I work as a cashier.

Whoa. That made me so sad as I just held, hugged, and kissed my 5 months old son. Now I'm going to give him a bunch more before I put him back in bed.

Mine is usually "My Uncle's a firefighter too, and I thank you for your service in helping save people's lives, I know you cannot save everyone, but you sure as hell try!"

Did you like homeschooling better than going to a public elementary and high school? Or did you like the public schools better than homeschooling? Also, off topic but I also have a six months old baby boy, as well as a almost 14 (next month), almost 12 (next month too!) and a 5 yrs old.
