I work for Boston Scientific and we had our Dorado plant up and running in 10 days after the storm - water, power, and internet. We then tackled our workers issues with portable generators, on site food and fresh water to take home, and a company wide financial campaign to help our people. I know that's isolated but couldn't things work better if there wasn't more of a public/private partnership? BTW, flying down in February; what gifts should I pack that I can carry?

I'm a engineering fellow at a medical device company and take on interns every summer. Over the years I've found that most succesful interns are the one's that are passionate about solving problems. Their GPA says that they can accomplish tasks, but how do you grow their passion? How do you show them the big picture and how they fit in?
