Hi! I’m a physician working in a hospital setting. All too often, I am horrified by how little effort is made to provide accommodations for patients with disabilities, often resulting in completely dehumanizing situations. I’d like to advocate for these patients and change how hospital care is delivered. Do you have any thoughts about this? Any recommendations?

Derek! Way long ago I managed to catch you in the close up magic room at the Magic Castle, watching in amazement as you dealt a shuffled deck of cards out by suit and rank— blindfolded. Been following you ever since then, at the Geffen Playhouse and elsewhere, and you constantly astound me.

One question— where does magic grow from here? What is the bleeding edge of magic that is yet unexplored? (Clearly I think you’re on that bleeding edge but I’m biased)
