The more I study, the more I think the problem with government is government. Specifically 2 things: First, any government will expand its power and control in spite of explicit restrictions to the contrary and second, the people drawn to government, both elected politicians and the bureaucrats, enjoy telling other people how to live their lives.

I've been thinking that the Machine's 'humanity', if you will, is what will allow it to defeat Samaritan. But that hasn't gone so well so far.
