Sorry if a stupid question, but how does that work exactly? What's the "point" of the surgery and how will they be able to redirect your digestive tract again while still achieving what they need to cure you?

Wow, thanks for such a detailed response. Totally fills in all the information that I wasn't clear about. I didn't exactly understand why they were doing a bag but would somehow then be reconnecting everything, but that totally makes sense. Man, modern medicine is crazy.
