If I had had a guess, it was for him to rally up the millions of faithful Americans from a default sub to bring outrage to the court system and alert international press, which he's not going to do if r/RBI, r/singapore, r/iama AND the Singapore courts all roughly say he's guilty.

So you think the Court is denying you justice because they think you look like someone who would cost them their job and their sex life?
