We didn't get to this place "accidentally" but we did get here via the supreme court who basically set aside one of the few honest to god pieces of bipartisan legislation in the interests of "free" speech. We had a national discussion about this, made a decision and then the supreme court struck it down. Now I guess I know how racist conservatives felt in the 60s.

Trump’s internal polling put him over the top and look who is president today. I think polling in general is in flux as people move away from land line phones to communicate.
