I've lived in Florida nearly half my life. I'm sure this state looks like a psycho zoo to someone reading the headlines in Europe, but as a resident - not so much, no. Sure, there's the occasional guy standing in traffic yelling at you ... but San Francisco have a few hundred thousand of those guys too. Portland sets downtown on fire every day. Cincinnati has people overdosing on Fentanyl every 5 mins or so. But those stories just don't have the headline excitement of "Florida Man".
