Yeah if an expert medical witness isn’t even the same specialty as the area they are testifying about they are likely ‘one of THOSE’ doctors.
The established physicians who are charged with advising my dumb ass have made sure to tell me I will be judged harshly by peers if I do that kind of thing. You only testify as an expert witness in your own field, usually if you are a leader of some sort - as in earned some respect through advancing the literature. Same for docs who turn exclusively to insurance work. I can say all this because I was looking into side hustle options and I was warned kind of sternly to be careful with my reputation.
That and the way this is being publicized makes me suspicious of the intent here. I think I’ll trust the expert psychiatrists and their journal discussions over a lawyer posting his face to headline his complaints on Reddit.

‘Never enough money in the Bay Area ’ = I’m filthy rich but there are way richer bastards here than me so I never did win the rat race.
