This might actually be a LPT, this make sure that the captain is aware of it, if he is not then someone fucked up and they can fix (and cover) their mistake before something really bad happend.

Yes, and this is the reason why I switched to uBlock Origin. I started to see more and more ads that it failed to block, and even with the plugin to select the elements to hide in many cases reloading the page made them reappear. Then I read about the "we allow some ads" and the "advertise with us!"

made the switch

It may play fine, when wine isn't too drunk and work...

Not an expert but read on:

It is hard to say without more info. One of the problem there is: how much sun do you trully get in a day that would hit directly the panel at a right angle? Anything not at right angle is producing less. a 12 hours day of sun can be 5 hours equivalent of full sun, or even less. Is it often cloudy? Any tree or building that cast a shadow on the roof? Is the roof facing the sun or away? Do you plan to store the power in battery or resell to the grid (effectivelly using the grid as a battery)? fully offgrid or just for the car?

All that change alot on the price, single to over 10 fold.

The panel itself is about 1$/watt, but again, that is at 'full sun power' and at 90° exactly, with a cold panel, which you don't have any of those, so will produce less than the rated power. On that, you need to add about the same price in labor and parts just to install the panel. Now you still need wiring and other equipment to convert the power to something usable... If you have battery then more equipement, if you tie on the grid then you just need an inverter that can go on grid (and sell power). The panel price, from my researches, is like 1/4 of the total cost.

  • Solar panel, install kit, lightning arrestor, ground rods, wiring and pipes, array combiner.

  • Charge controller, battery, circuit breakers, inverter

  • or gridtie inverter

All is very pricy.
