I'm sorry, but you failed to mention showtunes or Barbra Streisand, your application is rejected and you'll have to reapply next year.

So have you filed a civil rights complaint (perhaps with matching lawsuit) against the cop for discriminating against you on the basis of your religion yet?

Although I understand that I can not change someone's opinion of gay marriage,

Sure you can. 20 years ago it was utterly inconceivable that we'd have gay marriage in the US within our lifetimes. Now it's conceivable we'll have it federally recognized within a few years. We've been very successfully changing opinions on that topic... you can too. Just tell the truth about it and refuse to back down in the face of the lies people tell about it, point out hate and bigotry when you see them, and you'll be making a major contribution to the battle.

I remember in college reading about a study, they did basically the same thing, but they were comparing immune factors in the blood of the men who wore the shirt and the women who sniffed it. They found that on average, women tended to prefer the shirt with immune factors most different from their own.

They're continuing to have a real problem with it. They wanted to try to get a law or regulation that lab-made diamonds can't be called "diamonds", but it was promptly pointed out that the pearl industry did this and the result was "cultured pearls", which are pearls, but created under controlled conditions which often result in more perfect pearls, so some buyers prefer them. The diamond industry doesn't want to repeat this precedent with "cultured diamonds", but they don't seem to know what to do.
