search for madrebel and rdp on the boards. first step IMO is looking at the old threshholds that from when RDP 'hurt'. cut those in half so it can't hurt more than 50% of what it used to and then see how it plays out under the auspices of the current EWS grid system.

the major issue was it was impossible to defend against with EWs tied to towns. now, even under the existing system the 6km view distance really kick high altitude combat in the balls, but, it's a start.

I would resub for a year in a heartbeat if the 'fish bowl' aka lack of perceivable horizon were fixed for at least air personas. throw in a flag that says "if spawning a plane then disable w/e was added to hard cap the fishbowl/fog". This allows pilots the visual queues required to literally not get sick when flying. W/o that horizon vertigo sets in and I myself have had to look away at times, shake my head, gather myself etc. Again, read up on what the devs at valve/oculus have done/are doing to cure this in VR. it's a real issue, not just a flyboy 'crying' because his toys were taken away.

alternative mission types for the air, IMO, should also be a priority. RDP sort of already is the defend and destroy game type i'm looking for but even in the best cases you're talking a multi hour commit from players for very little reward. there needs to be a more local version of this, my suggestion has always been bombs on hangars = destroyed AF and AF AAI along with bounced flags. after X rebuild time of now bombs on target you can again place flags here.

ideally have the damage on target scale with population imbalance. if pop imbalance = 2:1 then bombs on target required is also 2:1. get some scaling damage mechanics like this and people will self regulate a bit more, in theory.

the true long RDP missions IMO scream for a weekly/bi-weekly event.

I literally have a very long document entitled "my ww2ol" that i've written over the years. if you'd like to read it tell me where to email it. alot is disjointed and I need to clean it up but all my ideas are in basically one document.

you guys are doing fantastic, don't get me wrong. just ... alot of us are very passionate about this game and refuse to get sucked back in unless you increase the purity of your particular brand of crack. if i'm going to risk the ire of the wife ... make it damn good shit.

give me a reason to give you my money lol. infantry, infantry weapons, really cool and absolutely honest, best work this game has seen ever. not to downplay past accomplishments but it's clear this team has real talent. the models, given the dated engine, look stellar. not gameplay changing though. if you want to do infantry, where is my area cap? where is area cap for AFVs? etc etc. again fantastic looking models, great job nailing bugs and improving performance, but ... grrrr still not there.

could be sooo much more though and still, NOTHING come close to ww2ol. warthunder allegedly has plans for a combined arms persitent ww2 war game, but, come on gaiijin sucks.

i'd add VR support and 6DoF as must haves but honestly the list of things needed before that is long. Looking down the road though, I think VR is actually here to stay this time. Can you imagine ww2ol with full oculus rift support using either the oculus vr controllers or a steam controller?

to sum it up, guys like me have no problem throwing away $15 a month but I need to see something about new plans. the old team is gone, this new team gots chops yo ... so what's next and when will it be written down?

the past, how we got here, all relevant but played out and now behind us. sell me on the future! that's what I'm interested in supporting.

madrebel - wondering when the team is willing to talk about and or commit to larger changes that bring new gameplay into the world and or fix really old things that ... well suck.

we've had TOEs in unchanged since forever, it needs updated. RDP needs to be good, but how? Certain graphics changes made in the past have negatively impacted the airwar. Lack of mission types for the airwar.

etc etc, when can we talk about these things? new models look great, the patches, seriously commendable great job, but I'm still not resubbing.

Is there anything you can comment on that would have the new team taking off a bit larger and sexier bite soon?

imo if you want to go down this road take a look at warthunder's system.

i wouldn't replicate that per se but in my perfect world there would be a 10-5-0% penalty to performance for.

full assist = -10% performance partial assist = -5% 0 assist = -0% performance.

meaning, when you're an ace and can handle your machine you get everything from it. novices, not so much but enough that they're always viable.

when i say performance i mean max potential output of the engine not some drag modifier. btw this is historically justifiable as planes from the factory could and did perform up to 10% different and still were accepted (+/- 5%). also, veteran pilots/crew had all manner of field mods to gain a few MPH.
