That's a great reply. I go back to early days of the Net too and this idea of "finding out as you went along" seems a long way off from "corporate strategies" of today.

I'd been around the Net for a few years when I read Being Digital by Nicholas Negroponte and it was a real lightbulb moment for me.

I believe she doesn't travel with an "honour guard" as such. Not ceremonial soldiers, but she does have a close protection group (known as SO14) who are police officers. They have both uniformed and plain clothed officers.

Her Majesty (and one day His Majesty) and His/Her Royal Highness. Only the Queen is Her Majesty but HRH ranges from her children and some grandchildren. I think only the direct line gets HRH (Charles, William George etc) but the Queen can grant the title to others - for example her late husband was originally HRH The Duke of Edinburgh until he was made a prince some time after their marriage.
