When my dad was drunk, he was too cheap to call a taxi and just called the police to give him a ride home. They obliged because, 1. this is Canada where RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) roams around with their awesomeness, 2. they'd rather have him safely home than do something stupid, and 3. since they were already there, and there was nothing better to do.
