We didn't drift to the right. This country was founded on libertarian principles. Does the new deal ring a bell, social security, obamacare? How about income taxes and the fed reserve? Welfare? Dilly dallying in other countries affairs? The morality of spying on not just the American people with no warrant, but the spying on the worlds people. These are all things that happen when a government has grown too large. Here's where you have misjudged the current state of affairs, its not a matter of right and left, it is a matter of freedom of choice
