In high school I had a teacher whose brother had served as a Marine in Vietnam. She said he had a group photo where he and his fellow Marines had posed with severed Viet Cong heads. Did you ever hear of or participate in this sort of thing?

I used to work for a Fortune 500 company that had to close down a few facilities in recent years. I worked with a guy who had relocated from one of the closed facilities and he gave a very similar account. Companies will handle closures this way for safety reasons--they don't want someone showing up with a gun on the last day and doing something crazy. Did they at least offer you a severance package? Regardless, you should at least be able to qualify for unemployment.
