Most of the examples you gave in the Guardian were of governments using fake engagement to manipulate domestic politics within their own countries, rather than the politics of other countries. Was this just more common, or is there another reason?

In the Guardian article the list of countries in which you saw serious examples of fake engagement was interesting, but for some of the countries it is difficult to get an idea of which governments are implicated.

In the case of Bolivia, what was the timeframe involved? Was it the government of Evo Morales, or of Jeanine AƱez? Or were you talking about local or municipal leaders rather than the national government?

It would be interesting to know the same kind of details for each of the countries: Brazil, Ukraine, India, Mexico, Iraq...

Did the politicians/parties in whose favour this fake engagement was being done tend to be right wing or left wing, or was there much difference?
