I'm very excited to participate in your course. But I feel somewhat disillusioned how to achieve sustainable development in a society that
1) is only coming together when faced with a big threat (otherwise particularized) and that
2) is dominated and crippled by corporate interests and corporate lobbies and oftentimes blurs the line between corporate interests and governance/politics.
3) is based on short term satisfaction rather than long term benefits for many
My questions:
- What is in your experience the best way to bring people together working on sustainable development without monetary incentives?
- How can lobbying and corporate influence/dominance (based on financial dominance) be curtailed?
- What are efficient techniques to promote a sustainable way of thinking: e.g.enable people to be less "lazy" in their everyday thinking and actions and think long term?
